I am just OCD enough that I like to have spare parts. There is a listing for a new Akai branded pinch roller for the GX-747 on that auction site. The auction number is 190247806614 . It is in Italy, although they claim they ship worldwide. BIN price appx $43.47 plus shipping (U.S.)
I would say b.s., except the seller has thousands of positive feedbacks , 99.8% positive, which is good (not as good as my own 100%, but I digress, lol).

My qustion is, does anyone even know that this part could be available (I am assuming NOS Akai since the Akai we knew and loved no longer exists).

Thanks for any opinion, and I won't even take it personally if you call me a complete moron for considering to buy overseas.....*eyepop*

I'd get the existing one rebuilt by Terry's Rubber Rollers before I would purchase a NOS rubber pinch roller. Depending on the rubber used these have a very definite shelf life.

Hey stripedcat.
I bought off this guy a year ago. His Pioneer RT707 pinch roller works as new for me. Can't imagine where he gets them from if they are NOS. You got to think when inventories were liquidated these parts were sold off cheap by the thousands if you knew where to find them. Maybe this guy found them.*eyepop*

I recommend the seller due to the fact that I bought a roller from him for my Tandberg. These are unobtanium and the one I received was in fact an nos Tanberg pinch roller,
