Hi all!
I'm bought a unit to repair (my second one, the first was too much of a handful to repair at the moment). It was seized up due to dried oil, had oil in various places etc. Once cleaned up (disassembly and soaking gears in alcohol) the mechanics work fine. Auto shut off, etc all works.
Now it plays at double speed though, when in the locked speed position.
However, if I set the speed switch to variable, then it slows down, but instead a horrible large amplitude warble is introduced. (It's so bad that it's actually nicer to listen at 2X speed.)
Any ideas? I plan to replace IC601, but wonder if the warble may indicate that something else is wrong as well?
