Has anybody seen or used them?
It is a Type II, made in Switzerland.

Never seen one of those before, even on those tape collection websites.

I wonder if they're a division of Prism Magnetics?

I don't know if Dupont wants to get into tape manufacture at this point as there is little market share and they make enough money by selling the raw materials such as Mylar or Polyester. They may even be involved in the protective internal sheets. It is such a big company.
The one picture says made in Holland. Does this mean that RMGI has competition or that someone opened up a BASF tape place again. I would have to test the tape to tell how good it was- it looks cleanly made.
The BASF tapes did not do well on the Japanese tape decks. It was most likely because they were the only real Chrome tape.
On another note- WELCOME Douglas787! I have worked on MD80, MD11 and DC10 in one of my past jobs.
Oh, since you are new- I used to work at Teac so in case you need help with the X1000 or X2000, here I am.

I could not resist opening one of the Type IIs (I have three of these 60 minute-tapes). The shell looks OK, nothing fancy. I like the J-card and there are a lot of stickers of numbers, etc. First (after clening the heads and rolls) I calibrated the tape and recorded some music (Pink Floyd and Kispál és a Borz [Hungarian rock, good sounding live recording].) Not much difference with the CDs, high, middle and bass was Ok, but lacked something which makes the real good ones (Denon HD8, TDK SA-X, Sony UX-Pro) sounding better. They are more alive. So I recommend everybody to grab one or two if you can get it cheap (German e-bay).

I have a few of the PDM type IIs as in the photo. I will try to remember to list them on ebay soon. I also have the PDMagnetics metal and type II in good numbers that are currently on ebay. ( I am related to the seller-it's me! ) dr.bo
