Well, those of you that were members of the first incarnation of tapeheads, will remember that I posted a thread about an upcoming shootout between the Pioneer CT-F9191 and the Akai GX912, both TOTL, both loved by many.

Well, the day has almost come. I finally got the 2 pesky screws out that were impeding my progress into the mechanism of the 9191, and thought that i got everything done...apparently not. I have playback, but no FF or REW....

So we will hopefully get a nice little shootout on Monday.

Well, playback is wonderful, tested with a Pioneer QL-600A and Realistic Minimus-12 speakers. And a Cotton Eye Joe remixes cassette single. *eyepop*

FF and REW motor works fine, and it looks like I left out a rubber wheel somewhere in that section. *fit**fit**fit*

Oh well.....luckily it's fixable.

Idler drive tire? I'm surprised it doesn't bunch up the tape in the take-up reel if the tire isn't driving the reel hub.

It's a 2 motor deck, and I think that I can see where it's supposed to go...I'll go put it in now and see what happens....
