Charlie Parker's Birthday 8/29

I'm a big bebop fan and when I found out a few years ago Charlie "Bird" Parker was buried here in KC.. though he died in NYC...I trekked to see his grave site. These photo's were taken on Sunday morning August 20th 2006. Those flowers were already there. I believe last Sunday 8/24 they had a 21 sax salute at the grave.

He would have been 88 today... though he died in 1955. Just a month before I was born.

That's cool that he's near you. I hope he's well visited in his afterlife.
