Got this old/new for me beast going and it surprises with the sound quality for what the thing is and the silly money I paid for it (the freight was more than the deck). This thing is built like a brick shithouse, plastic buttons and slider knobs but the rest of the deck is nearly all metal including the interior parts.
Going on the quality and sound of this thing a 3014 must be awesome.
My question is how the bloody hell do you clean the tape path in this thing. The side load door/cover does not seem to want to come off and I ain't gunna force it without knowing if it is indeed even supposed to come off. I'm just going to use this thing to play my prerecorded tapes (dolby B) to save wear on the Aiwa XK-S9000. Anyone of you TH's had one of these units? (Dolph?)

Tape well door comes off by force but the part of the door comming of is the flat surface and not the swinging part.

So if you stick your fingers in from the top, then you can press out on the flat part as close to the hinge as possible.
That will make it come off.

The 310/310 mkII are the next lowest series of the Tandberg Cassette decks.
Yet they sound pretty sweet.

Below is only TCD 300
Above is TCD 320/340/420/440A and the TCD 3004/3014/3014A/910/911

Good Luck.
