A friend of mine brought me another console player with a TT, 8 track and AM FM radio in it, just like the one I have in one of my albums. It also had a lot of older 78's and LP's in the cabinet. Heres is one I would like to show everyone, I thought it was really neat looking. Its a Clyde McCoy and his Orchestra record, don't know what year it is. Any guesses? Lots of old Blues in the 78's and the 33's are Herb alpert and other Big Bands. Good friends are great to have.

Is that both sides of the same LP/78? It looks very frame worthy to me, I've know idea on the year though. Nice find!

Yea stuwee, thats one record, went on the net this guy played in the thirties. Here is a place to go to read up on him and his life. I though the same thing about hanging it, but then again a revolving stand is a good idea too.

Pic disk 78's are pretty rare, and not knowing much about them personally, I'd be hanging that proudly, as to the music, the site makes it very intriguing to want to listen to it, if you don't have the means to play it and record that. Maybe find so other way, as in I'm sure some of his music made it to the LP era, which was 1947(??) Good luck and find a worthy framer, it's a beaut!

Vogue picture discs are very collectible. Some are worth more than others(the Bill Haley one for example). But even the lower end ones are a great score.

stuwee,

I already cleaned it off a little and put in on the JC Penny turntable with a big set of QUALITY Sounddesign speakers. LOL It had a little static in it, but still was clear sounding. I didn't play it very long till I find out how to clean this one thourghly, I'm not taking any chances on ruining it. I'll probably make a case for it out of oak and glass myself.

clhboa,

I went into a web site that has estimated values and this particular one is probably around $50.00 to $75.00. If it was a $2000.00 one I would have it packed up and ready to ship to a new home. NOTTTTTT This is a keeper to give to my children, to sell, pack and ship to a new home.
