Welcome to TapeHeads.Net! Our mission is the preservation of the lost art of analog music recording and playback. We are your Number One place on the Web to learn about all things pertaining to analog audio including general use, tips and techniques, equipment reviews, how and where to purchase, pricing, as well as servicing. This is the place where analog is "reel". That's not just a word play but values we hold near and dear because of our belief that analog recording is far superior to digital.

We cover all formats including vintage and modern cassette, reel to reel, 8-track, and DAT.

Although tape and taping does represent the core heart of the site, a tape deck alone does not make a good sound system. So in addition to tape and taping, we also cover all areas of audio including vinyl and turntables, speakers, amplifiers and receivers, and everything else that helps make a complete sound system.

If you are dissatisfied with the weak sound of todays minimalist digital sound systems or else would like to get back in touch with "how it used to be", this is the place for you.

Cassette and reel to reel tape as a collectors hobby has also gained in popularity in recent years. This is also the place to talk about that side of tape and taping. We share our collections as well as buy, sell, and trade different items.

We hope you will find TapeHeads to be informative, fun, and educational. Although our primary audience is the home hobbyist and audiophile, professional recording engineers and technicians or anyone else interested in tape and taping is welcome to stop by.

The TapeHeads.Net Difference

There are many other Web sites out there also dedicated to music and audio. So what sets TapeHeads apart?

First is our open mindedness and welcoming of audio fans from all across the spectrum. Everyone has different tastes and budgets. We recognize that and find it best to welcome anyone and everyone who has a love for this hobby in one form or another. At TapeHeads, you will not find elitisim, hostility, or cult mentality. In addition, TapeHeads is free and easy to join and there are no membership fees to pay nor are there "tiered" levels of membership that's predicated on monetary support. TapeHeads is truly an open community where all who come should feel welcome.

And lastly: This is the place to talk tape. TapeHeads was founded on a love of tape decks and provides an online community to call home for that passion. Most other audio sites pay little or no attention or respect to tape. Here, it is our main passion. However, most fans of tape also have full and complete systems and enjoy other areas of audio as well. All members of our community come here knowing that they will be welcomed and can exchange thoughts and ideas on all aspects of audio.

TapeHeads.Net is proudly ran from the heart of Americas food basket: Tulare, California.
